After taking on the unenviable task of replacing legendary coach Tom Osborne at Nebraska, Solich found himself at Ohio after being let go by the Cornhuskers for the disaster known as Bill Callahan, despite going 58-19 during his regime, finishing in the top 10 three times and playing for a national championship in 2001. But their loss has been Ohio’s gane, as Solich has gone 32-31 and won two MAC East Division titles. For his career, Solich is an impressive 90-50. And while he’d likely be able to land a head coaching gig at a more prominent school, he seems comfortable toiling in relative obscurity with the Bobcats.

And Nebraska is just 37-26 since letting him go.

Bassett is projected to fall somewhere in the late second round at best, but more than likely go undrafted.  That said, not getting drafted isn’t the worst thing in the world, and some folks actually think it’s better than going in the second round.

By not getting drafted, it allows you to go work out for a number of teams and handpick the best situation.
